Four Shibir activists held in Kushtia

Police detained four Shibir activists on charges of their link to planning sabotage at the Islamic University in the southwestern district of Kushtia on Tuesday.

The detained were Abu Esha (20), son of Yeakub Ali of Jhenaidah, Shamsuddin (21), son of Jalil of Chuadanga, Abu Sayem (20), son of Mojammel, Redwan-ul-Hasan, son of Abu Bakkar of the same district. 

Among those arrested, Redwan is a student of the university, police said, but failed to say which department he belonged to. 

Ratan Sheikh, officer-in-charge at Islamic University Police Station, said they made the detention from the cafeteria at 4.30 pm.

Seven bombs, huge number of jihadi literature books, mobile phones and SIM cards were also found on them, he added.
