Missing elderly man found dead in Comilla

An elderly man was found dead in a waterbody adjacent to Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Bijoypur area of Sadar Dakhshin upazila on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek, 70, son of late Ansar Ali, a resident of Kismat village in Bijoypur union, reports UNB.

Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Dakhshin Police Station, said that Malek went missing on August 12 after he went out from the house along with his cattle for grazing it.

The following day, his family members filed a general diary.

Locals spotted his body in the waterbody at night and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
