10 cos capture 29.50pc of DSE transaction

IFIC Bank Monday topped the turnover chart followed by Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL), City Bank and BBS Cables.

Top 10 turnover leaders grabbed 29.50 per cent of the turnover featured by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The premier bourse DSE Monday featured a turnover of above Tk 11.87 billion.

Of the leaders, IFIC Bank topped the chart of turnover leaders with a value of Tk 738 million or 6.20 per cent of the market turnover.

The company's market price rose 2.01 per cent and trading closed at Tk 20.20 per share.

The company's earnings slightly declined for April-June, 2017 compared to same period of the previous year. The company reported its consolidated EPS of Tk. 0.92 for April-June, 2017 as against Tk 0.93 for April-June, 2016, while the consolidated EPS was Tk 1.48 for January-June, 2017 as against Tk. 1.44 for January-June, 2016. The company's consolidated NAV per share was Tk 26.33 as of June 30, 2017 and Tk. 26.08 as of June 30, 2016.

Among other turnover leaders, Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) featured a value of Tk 395.90 million and captured 3.30 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share price declined 1.53 per cent and share trading closed at Tk 25.20.

City Bank contributed 2.90 per cent in market turnover with its own turnover of Tk 349 million. The company's share price rose 0.91 per cent to close at Tk 44.40.

BBS Cables featured a turnover of Tk 345 million and grabbed 2.90 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share price went up by 7.67 per cent and trading closed at Tk 100.30 per share.

Eastern Bank posted a turnover of Tk 336.30 million and grabbed 2.80 per cent of the turnover featured by the DSE. The company's share trading closed at Tk 42.70 with a rise of 2.63 per cent.

National Bank Limited posted a turnover of Tk 313.90 million which was 2.60 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share price witnessed 3.23 per cent rise and trading closed at Tk 12.90.

Mercantile Bank captured 2.40 per cent of market turnover, featuring a turnover of Tk 288.70 million. The company's share trading closed at Tk 25.60 with a rise of 1.60 per cent.

Among other turnover leaders, One Bank, Prime Bank and Fu-Wang Food featured a turnover of Tk 257.40 million, Tk 255.20 million and Tk 245.10 million respectively.
