Fall in US bond mark troubling
The tone in the bond market is troubling. The market is worried about the prospect of the Trumpflation trade, according to a global media report Saturday.

It comes amid political rancour over the dismissal of Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, with analysts saying uncertainty over the timing of the administration’s economic agenda is increasing demand for haven assets such as Treasuries, pushing yields and pressuring areas of the stock market.

Falling bond yields bolstered defensive and dividend-paying stocks with utilities rising 0.6 per cent. The technology sector of the S&P 500 was the only other trading in the green, up 0.2 per cent. The Nasdaq Composite was modestly higher at 6,117 and on course for a weekly gain of 0.3 per cent, having set a new all-time close of 6,129 on Wednesday.
