BNP does not want Teesta water deal: Obaidul

The BNP is trying to create obstacles on signing Teesta water deal under the Hasina administration, said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

The AL leader made the statement to journalists soon after he paid his respects to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi Road 32 on Monday.

“All the BNP does is creating issues and it is now trying to create an anti-Indian issue,” he said in response to a question. “The BNP has continued to do all it can to ensure the Teesta deal is not reached under the Hasina administration.”

Bangladesh is observing the historic 'Mujibnagar Day', commemorating the formation of the country's first interim government.
