Qatar envoy in Dhaka pays Tk 7000 for a cup of 7-layer tea

Qatar Ambassador in Dhaka Ahmed bin Mohamed al-Dehaimi has paid a staggering Tk 7,000 for one cup of tea during a visit to Srimangal in the tea-growing northeastern district of Moulvibazar.

The speciality of the tea is: It has seven layers.

The tea maker, Romesh Ram Gour, who owns the famous 'Nil Kantha Cha Cabin', told that he was surprised and very happy after getting the Tk 7,000 reward.

"I couldn't even imagine that the Qatar ambassador would drink my tea," said a smiling Romesh.

Srimangal Assistant Commissioner (Land) Biswajit Paul told that Ahmed came to Srimangal on Saturday.

"He was very satisfied after drinking the tea in the evening and paid Tk 7,000 to Romesh, who created the special seven-layer tea," he said.

Former parliament chief whip Abdus Shaheed accompanied the ambassador. – source
