Bank employee allegedly hacked to death in Dhaka by former husband
A woman has been allegedly hacked to death by her former husband in broad day light at a street in Dhaka.
The victim's family said the incident took place around 8am on the capital's Central Road.
Ariful Nesa Arifa, who worked at the Purana Paltan Branch of Jamuna Bank, was attacked with a sharp weapon by her former husband 'Robin' while on her way to work, her brother 'Bulbul' said, reports bdnews24.com.
The 27-year-old died several hours later at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
"She had slash wounds on the shoulder, chest and hands. She succumbed to the injuries around 12pm," DMCH police camp's Sub Inspector Bachchu Mia said.
The victim's brother said Robin attacked Arifa as soon as she came out from her home at the Central Road.
The two hailed from Jamalpur and married four years ago following a relationship. They separated six months ago, said Bulbul.
"Since the separation, she lived at Central Road with our mother.
"Robin (the former husband) has done it out of vengeance," he added.
