Fenox to facilitate investment platform for NRBs
A two-day long conference for Non-Resident Bangladeshis titled "Bangladesh Global Summit" was held in Kuala Lampur.
For the first time such a conference was organised by All European Association of Bangladesh (AEAB), a non-profit organisation working with European migrant workers' rights and many other issues.
The General Partner of Fenox Venture Capital Mr. Shameem Ahsan presented the keynote paper at "Branding Bangladesh" session in the conference which was held at Barjaya Time Square Hotel in the Malaysian capital recently.
Shameem Ahsan, also Chairman of Venture Capital and Private Equity Association of Bangladesh (VCPEAB) and former BASIS president said, Bangladesh will be 23rd economy in the world by 2030. According to the survey of IMF, Bangladesh is now the world's second fastest growing economy.
"In the context of the implementation of Digital Bangladesh prosperity, our technology has created a new identity around the world. Digital Bangladesh now has become an example to the world. Bangladesh is one of the destinations for outsourcing which has been disclosed in various surveys of different organizations already. The progress of e-commerce is also remarkable. 62 million people are already connected to the Internet. The world's major companies are operating in Bangladesh," he said.
Mr Shameem Ahsan also added that Bangladesh has been able to bring the world's leading venture capital company like Fenox in its territory. Companies like Brother, Nikkei, Infocom, Inotech have invested through Fenox in more than 85 countries worldwide. Expatriates of Silicon Valley are also investing through Fenox. The influential billionaires like Bill Gates is also investing in Bangladesh. But expatriates are not getting any opportunity to invest in the best overseas-commerce and information technology companies. Fenox Venture Capital is providing that platform of investment for expatriates, said a statement.
