Country witnesses multidimensional dev: Kamal
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said multidimensional development has taken place in Bangladesh.
"Development has taken place in road communication to all spheres at the level," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a function marking the unveiling of a sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) auditorium in Dhaka.
Presided over by Agriculture Secretary Mayeenuddin Abdullah, the function was addressed by Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury as the main speaker.
Agriculturalist and Awami League Organising Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, MP, and agriculturist Abdul Mannan, MP, also spoke on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Matia Chowdhury said attaining food sufficiency was a difficult task in a densely populated country like Bangladesh, but that has been made possible here.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina understands that agriculture if the main driving force and she is giving 30 percent subsidy for irrigation and fertilizer, she added, according to a news agency. – bz
