Bangladesh seeks OIC cooperation in education
Bangladesh has urged the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to cooperate “effectively” in the fields of education, science, technology and research.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the call while speaking at the 43rd session of the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Tashkent on Wednesday. Acting President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev inaugurated the session.
Nahid led the Bangladesh delegation as this year’s meeting themed on “Education and Enlightenment – path to peace and creativity”.
Bangladesh Ambassador in Tashkent Mosud Mannann, foreign ministry’s Director General of the international organisation wing AFM Gousal Azam Sarker, and Bangladesh’s Deputy Permanent Representative to OIC in Riyadh Nazrul Islam are the other members of the delegation, according to a news agency. – bz
