The dilly-dally recruitment process of Bangladesh Bank
THE central bank of a country is a model for other banks and financial institutions. But we see just the reverse in case of Bangladesh Bank (BB), the central bank of Bangladesh. BB Published a circular to recruit "Officer (General Side)" against vacancies in June, 2014. After almost six months of the publication of the circular, BB took a preliminary exam of more or less 108,000 candidates on January 2, 2015. Almost 9,000 candidates were selected from the written test. BB took the written test of these candidates after almost five months of the preliminary test on May 15, 2015. Written test results were published after eight months of the test. Out of 9000 candidates 778 candidates qualified for oral test. The oral test started on April 24, 2016, after almost five months of the results of written test. Oral test ended on May 10, 2016 the Bangladesh Bank authorities are yet to publish the results. It is true that every candidate will not get the job because of the number of posts. But it will be a pity if one gets to know about his/her failure after waiting for almost two and a half years. We urge the BB authorities to look into the matter and put an end to our worries and anxieties.
