ACME most-traded share on bourses

ACME Laboratories dominated Wednesday the transaction chart of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) as investors were active on its share following the news of dividend recommendation.

ACME most-traded share on boursesFive most-active shares on the premier bourse were ACME Laboratories, Square Pharmaceuticals, Singer Bangladesh, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company and Notational Tubes.

According to statistics available with the DSE, some 2.99 million ACME shares were traded, generating a turnover of over Tk 326 million, which was 5.31 per cent of the DSE's total turnover.

ACME was, followed by Square Pharmaceuticals with about 1.07 million shares worth over Tk 288 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 270.30 each, advancing 0.63 per cent over the previous day.

Singer Bangladesh was the third on the DSE transaction list with some 1.12 million shares of Tk 224 million changing hands. The company's share price advanced 1.47 per cent to close at Tk 200.20 each.

Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company emerged as fourth with about 1.84 million shares of Tk 223 million changing hands. The state-run company's share closed at Tk 121 each, gaining 2.54 per cent.

National Tubes was the fifth on the DSE's turnover chart with about 1.03 million shares of Tk 146 million changing hands. The state-owned company's share price rose 3.99 per cent to close at Tk 141.40 each.

On the other hand, five most-traded stocks on the port city bourse were ACME Laboratories, Lafarge Surma Cement, KDS Accessories, GPH Ispat Complex and Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills (BSRM).

According to statistics available with the CSE, some 383,596 ACME shares were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 41.89 million. The company's share price fell 3.69 per cent to close at Tk 106.90 on the port city bourse.

Lafarge Surma was the second on the CSE transaction list with 188,925 shares worth Tk 15.20 million changing hands. The cement maker's share closed at Tk 79.20 each, shedding 1.99 per cent.

KDS Accessories emerged as third on the CSE turnover chart with 158,866 shares of Tk 12.74 million changing hands. The company's share price advanced 2.70 per cent to close at Tk 80 each.

GPH Ispat was the fourth on the port city bourse's turnover list with 392,594 shares of Tk 12.36 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 31.90 each, gaining 4.25 per cent over the previous day.

BSRM grabbed the fifth position on the CSE's transaction chart with 67,831 shares worth Tk 12.27 million changing hands. The Chittagong-based steel marker's share price fell 1.64 per cent to close at Tk 180.40 each.
