Bullet from constable’s shotgun injures rickshaw-puller
A rickshaw-puller was injured by shotgun fire at the Paltan intersection of the Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was a result of negligence on the part of a police constable, DMP said, reports bdnews24.com.
On duty police officials at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost confirmed that bullet exiting from the shotgun of a constable on duty at Paltan left Md Hanif, 35, wounded in the chest, hands and back.
He was admitted to DMCH around 3pm by Paltan police.
DMP Motijheel Division Deputy Commissioner Anwar Hossain said, "Initially we have found that bullets exited the shotgun of an on-duty constable by mistake, leaving the rickshaw-puller injured."
He said that the matter was being investigated and action would be taken against the police constable if he was found guilty of any negligence. –RH
