Bangladesh will face Syria in their opening group match of the Nehru Cup Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi today (Saturday), reports UNB.
The match will kick off at 7:30 pm (BST). Indian satellite channel ZEE Sports will telecast live all the matches of the five-nation tournament, which began Friday.
A 20-member Bangladesh national football team, led by stopper Kazi Nazrul Islam, already reached New Delhi Thursday.
Bangladesh will play their second match against hosts India on August 20, the third against Cambodia on August 22, and the fourth and last group match against Kyrgystan on August 24.
Bangladesh Squad: Goalkeepers-Biplob Bhattacharya (vice captain), Ziaur Rahman Zia and Mamun Khan.
Defenders - Rajani Kanta Barman, Kazi Nazrul Islam (captain), Firoz Mahmud Hossain Titu, Wali Faisal, Ariful Islam, Kazi Mofazzel Hossain Saikat, Atiqur Rahman Mishu and SM Razib.
Midfields- Arman Aziz, Mehdi Hasan Ujjal, Mohammad Abul Hossain, Mohammad Zahid Hossain, Zahed Parvez Chowdhury and Akramuzzaman Liton.
Forwards- Zahid Hossain Emily, Alfaz Ahmed and Mohammad Robin.
Officials: Team leader AKM Shafiqul Islam, team manager Haji Makbul Hossain, Head Coach Syed Nayeemuddin, Assistant Coach Syed Golam Jilani and physio Debashish Chowdhury.
