At least five shops have been burnt to ashes by a fire at Boalia Bazar in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. The extent of loss caused by the fire was estimated at Tk three million. Locals said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a grocery shop at the bazar on Sunday night. Soon th fire engulfed four adjoining shops. On information, three firefighting units from Sadar and Tungipara fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after about 2 hours of hectic efforts.
