The company name "Sheba Telecom (Pvt) Limited" has been changed to "Orascom Telecom Bangladesh Limited". The company will continue to use and operate under brand name banglalinkTM established by it in Bangladesh.

Sheba Telecom (Pvt) Limited was acquired by Orascom Telecom Holdding (OTH) and re-launched under the brand name banglalinkTM in February 2005. Banglalink is the fastest growing mobile operator in Bangladesh, and has achieved the No.2 position in the market.

Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) is a leading international telecommunications company operating GSM networks in six high growth markets in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, having a total population of approximately 460 million under its licence and over 70 million subscribers as of December 2007.
