In the day's 2nd round matches, Niaz beat FM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar of Destiny 2000 after the 43rd move, Saptarshi Roy defeated his compatriot IM Sahaj Grover after 30 moves, Praveen beat FM Abu Sufian Shakil of Bangladesh Biman in the 34th move while GM Saidali drew with Indian GM Dibyendu Barua after 30 moves.
Besides, FM Khondakar Aminul Islam of Titas Club drew with FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Basir Memorial after 74 moves.
Points after the 2nd round matches: 1.5- Niaz, Saidali, Saptarshi and Praveen, 1- Aminul, Dibyendu, 0.5 - Shakil, Sagar, Sahaj and Emon.
The 3rd round matches were in progress when last reports were received Wednesday evening.
The 4th round matches will be held today (Thursday) from 10:30 am at the same venue.
