Grameenphone Ltd remained the top market capitalisation leader on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) since its debut trading in November last amid buying enthusiasm both from retail and institutional investors.
GP grabbed the top position outnumbering ICB and Titas Gas in the race.
In the month of January, GP accounted for a record 19.87 per cent of the total market capitalisation on the DSE with Tk 360,395.08 million. In December, the GP alone contributed 16.58 per cent of the total market capitalization of DSE.
The total market capitalization of DSE now hovers between $ 30 billion to 32 billion.
According to the latest Monthly Review of DSE, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), Titas Gas, Square Pharmaceuticals and Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) were the other market capitalization leaders in the month of January.
Of them, ICB, Titas Gas, Square Pharmaceuticals and IBBL accounted for 3.90 per cent, 3.32 per cent, 2.99 per cent and 2.18 per cent respectively.
Meanwhile, the price earning (PE) of telecommunication sector with a lone company (GP) topped the rally of sectoral PE with 120.78 in the month of January against 84.85 in December and 81.46 in November.
IT and Cement sectors grabbed the second and third positions with 68.61 and 65.08 respectively in the month of January.
