Eminent economist Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud said business and economic journalists should know the subject well in addition to their journalistic knowledge, and remain alert to misconceptions.
He laid emphasis on presenting the complicated technical jargons in a non-technical way so that the readers and audience can understand them easily.
Dr Wahiduddin advised the journalists to learn how to use numbers and statistics with a sense of proportion and avoid confusing data and info.
The former adviser was addressing the certificate awarding ceremony of a training programme for media trainers held in a city hotel Wednesday.
Management and Resources Development Initiative (MRDI) organised the training under a project titled 'Training of Trainers on Business Journalism' supported by Katalyst.
