BRAC founder chairman Fazle Hasan Abed has won the first ever 'Entrepreneur for the World' award in the Social Entrepreneur category.
He received the award during a ceremony at the World Entrepreneurship Forum held in Lyon, France, recently, according to a press release.
The World Entrepreneurship Forum has been established by EMLYON Business School, a leading European business school in entrepreneurship, and KPMG, a leading tax, audit and advisory services company.
The Forum is founded on the conviction that the entrepreneur is a creator of wealth and social justice.
The World Entrepreneurship Forum Award started in 2008 and 2009 is the first year that the Social Entrepreneur category was included in the awards category.
