The 3-day IFALPA Asia/Pacific Regional Meeting 2009 starts today (Thursday) in the capital under the aegis of Bangladesh Airline Pilots Association (BAPA).
"BAPA will highlight and help eradicate the deficiencies of the airport facilities in Bangladesh and its shortcoming in the Air Traffic Controls with the help of international aviation experts," BAPA president captain SM Helal said.
Mentioning restrictions imposed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of USA and International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO), the BAPA president vowed to find a way to over come restrictions imposed by the international watchdogs and help the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) with expert suggestions.
The BAPA president said these while addressing a press conference in the capital call to announce the holding of IFALPA Asia/Pacific Regional Meeting 2009.
"Getting rid of the Category-2 by FAA and Significant Safety Concern (SSC) labels by ICAO will be our prime concern which is largely damaging the interest of the country's national flag carrier -Biman-- and other private airlines registered under CAAB," Captain Helal added.
