The telecom regulator in cooperation with Google is working on resuming next month the operation of popular video sharing website, YouTube, said officials, reports BSS.
They said an independent server, alternative to the regular one, would be established to stop the scopes of viewing any controversial video clips and other contents on the website.
Talking to the news agency, Sunil Kanti Bose, chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), said that they are trying to reopen the popular website in the country as early as possible considering the people's interest.
"Google have already sat with the BTRC and expressed their (Google) interest to reopen the YouTube in Bangladesh by December through alternative server under special arrangement," he said.
Bose said: "We've set two targets- at first reopen the website and secondly stop viewing the controversial contents in the country."
