US Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Ann Stock arrived in Dhaka on Saturday aiming to engage with the youth and civil society, and promote academic and cultural exchange, reports UNB.

During her stay here, she will meet State Department programme alumni to hear about their experiences in the United States (US) and what they are doing with the skills they acquired.

The visiting US Assistant Secretary and US Ambassador in Dhaka Dan Mozena will participate in a programme with members of Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) at the Edward M. Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts, at MIDAS Center, Dhanmondi on Sunday, official at the US Embassy said on Saturday confirming her arrival.

Ann Stock will also be available to take questions from the media on topics of education in the US and cultural exchanges after the event.

Stock will lead a conversation at the Edward M Kennedy Center with State Department exchange alumni who established 'Jaago', Bangladesh' s largest youth volunteer organisation, and discuss how youths are transforming their societies.

She will also meet EducationUSA advising staff and students, as well as the participants of the English Access Microscholarship Programme in Dhaka.
