Bangladesh clinch team event title in Golf Amateur

M Sajib Ali (L) and M Nazim clinched the team event title of the Runner Group 28th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship in the city Thursday
Bangladesh 'A' team comprising M Sajib Ali and M Nazim clinched the team event title of the Runner Group 28th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship held at the Kurmitola Golf Club Thursday, reports BSS.
In the 2nd round they played five under par (139 + 144 = 283) and ensured the team event title. Though M Nazim played level par (72 + 72 = 144) his partner M Sajib Ali displayed a superb five under par (72 + 67 = 139) for wining the teams title with a total 283 gross score.
Bangladesh 'B' team comprising Mohammad Sagor and M Liton by playing three under par (140 + 145 = 285) finished runners-up position.
The Indian team, comprising M Udayan Mane and Karan Taunk, was declared 2nd runner up in the meet. They scored 287.
This was certainly a good result for the local teams for being able to uphold the glory of the country.
In the individual category, winner will be declared on the basis of four round aggregated scores. As on now after two rounds, leader of the 1st round Mohammad Sagor of Bangladesh could not strengthen his top position by scoring level par (72) in the 2nd round.
Now, M Sajib Ali of Bangladesh 'A' team with five under par (72 + 67 = 139) and Karan Taunk of India with five under par (70+69 = 139) jointly leading the table.
Mohammad Sagor of Bangladesh now in 3rd position with four under par (68 + 72 = 140) and M Nazim of Bangladesh 'A' team holds the 4th position with level per score (72 + 782 = 144).
To uphold the prestige and glory of the nation, M Nazim will have to come back very strongly with superb performances in next two rounds.
