BCL 3rd Round begins today

Two matches of the 3rd round of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), a new-look franchisee-based four-day competition and Bangladesh's second first-class cricket league, will be held today (Tuesday), reports UNB.

Table toppers Walton Central Zone will take on lowest Islami Bank East Zone at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium while Prime Bank South Zone will face BCB North Zone at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.

Central Zone, who are at top with 10 points by virtue of bonus points added to their drawn match points of 6 from two encounters, are being closely followed with 9 points by South Zone, who have posted the only win in the BCL so far.

North Zone securing 6 points from two draws are at the 3rd slot while East Zone at bottom with 5 points from one draw and a loss that provided them one bonus point.

Currently in the league, BCB North Zone's Nasir Hossain is the highest run scorer scoring 228 runs with a century and a half century and Prime Bank South Zone's Sohag Gazi the maximum wicket taker with 16 wickets that includes two five-wicket hauls.
