Keep unfit vehicles off roads during Eid holidays: Police

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) of Dhaka Metropolitan Md Musleh Uddin Ahmed on Wednesday asked all not to drive ‘unfit’ cars during the Eid holidays to make home bound people’s journey comfortable and safe. 

Musleh Uddin said this when he was speaking as a chief guest in a dialogue on ‘law and traffic management’ at the hall room of Mohakhali Bus Terminal in Dhaka, according to DMP news.

He sought help from the owner and worker of the buses to ensure smooth journey of the homebound people.  

The DMP officer also asked them to cooperate to stop carrying passenger on roof of buses, not to take extra fair from the home goers.

DMP traffic police said they opened two temporary control rooms at Mohakhali Busterminal and Abdullahpur to monitor the rush of vehicles during the vacation.  

The traffic police will also deliver awareness handbills to the passengers, show videos on dope party to make sure the safety of the travellers.   

Musleh Uddin requested the drivers to not use mobile phones whiledriving.
