Top ten traded companies captured 33 per cent transaction of the premier bourse Wednesday while Bangladesh Building Systems (BBS) led the chart for the two consecutive sessions.

The total transaction on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stood at Tk 8.76 billion on the day, which was more than 10 per cent lower than the previous day's value of Tk 9.78 billion.

Bangladesh Building Systems, LankaBangla Finance, BBS Cables, Fortune Shoes, ACI, BDCOM Online, United Finance, Keya Cosmetics, Golden Harvest Agro Industries Al-Arafa Islami Bank were the most-active shares in terms of value on the DSE.

Of them, share price of seven companies rose up to 4.10 per cent, while three faced correction up to 9.94 per cent on the day over the previous session.

According to the statistics available with the DSE, about 15.38 million shares of Bangladesh Building Systems were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 862 million, which was 9.84 per cent of the premier bourse's total turnover value.

The company's share price hovered between Tk 54.20 and Tk 57, before closing at Tk 54.90 on the day, advancing 1.10 per cent over the previous session.

LankaBangla followed next, with shares of Tk 442 million changing hands. It was 5.04 per cent of the total turnover value. The company's share price rose 1.23 per cent to close at Tk 57.70 each.

Newly listed BBS Cables notched the third spot, with shares of Tk 433 million changing hands, which was 4.94 per cent of the total turnover. The company's share price plunged 9.94 per cent to close at Tk 132.30. It was also the day's top loser, after soaring abnormally since its debut on July 31.

Fortune Shoes emerged as fourth with shares of Tk 266 million changing hands, grabbing 3.03 per cent of the day's total turnover. The company's share price closed at Tk 55.60 each, shedding 0.89 per cent over the previous day.

The turnover of ACI was Tk 177 million, capturing 2.02 per cent of the day's total transaction. The company's share price advanced 1.33 per cent to close at Tk 534.40 each.

BDCOM Online featured a turnover of Tk 167 million, which was 1.91 per cent of the day's total turnover. The IT Company's share price closed at Tk 45.40, gaining 1.34 per cent.

The turnover of United Finance was Tk 152 million, grabbing 1.73 per cent of the day's total turnover. The company's share price rose 2.99 per cent to close at Tk 24.10 each.

Keya Cosmetics featured a turnover of Tk 147 million, which was 1.64 per cent of the day's total transaction. The company's share closed at Tk 15.20, advancing 4.10 per cent.

Al-Arafah Bank was also included in the top ten turnover chart with shares of Tk 125 million changing hands. The bank's share price closed at Tk 21.20, advancing 1.44 per cent over the previous session.
