US offers support for Ctg port dev

US Embassy Charge d' Affaires Joel Reifman has said that his country is ready to support developing Chittagong Port, Bangladesh’s main sea port.

Joel came up with the remark in a seminar, titled 'US-Bangladesh Bilateral Trade and Investment Relations' held at World Trade Centre in the port city on Wednesday.

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and American Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh (AmCham) jointly organised the seminar.

In his speech, Joel said, Chittagong Chamber has taken Bangladesh economy ahead by founding the First World Trade Centre.

Terming the trade relation between Bangladesh and US as deep, he said Bangladesh exported goods worth about US $ 6.8 billion to the USA in 2016 and business companies are showing their interest to invest in Bangladesh.
