Global warming and its deadly impacts

WE are witnessing an unusually hot summer this year and gradually our weather pattern is changing for the worse as we have been mindlessly destroying nature without thinking about its dire consequences. Mother nature is always unforgiving as we have been witnessing recently intense hot and cold weather. The World Bank warned Bangladesh that its temperature is gradually rising and people will witness a rise of 2°C in the next few decades. This will raise sea level and cause natural calamities hitherto unknown to us. It will affect our livelihoods by reducing food production, causing unprecedented heat waves and intense cyclones. If we do not take drastic measures to redeem nature and bring back balance in our eco system, we may find ourselves at a point of no return. It is good to know that gradually the literacy level is going up in our country and surely the educated people will be more aware of the importance of keeping the environment healthy. Students should also be taught early about the great importance of natural environment and the dangers of destroying it. If we disturb the balance of nature, the cycle of nature is destroyed.
