Nayak Raj Razzak

THE sudden demise of the legendary Bangla movie star Razzak has cast a pall of gloom over the country. Razzak recently celebrated his 76th birth anniversary. The movie industry in Bangladesh cannot be imagined without him. In fact, Bangla movie and Razzak were synonymous to each other. Razzak was the undisputed king among movie stars and ruled the Bangladesh film industry for decades. Bangla film in this part of the world had its golden era during his time. He mesmerized the movie lovers with his natural acting skills and won hearts of millions.

He had his big break in 1966 in Zahir Raihan's film Behula and since then he had never looked back. Razzak acted in more than 300 movies in his illustrious career.  He also directed 16 movies and many of them became blockbusters. Razzak and Kobori pair is still regarded as the most romantic pair of Bangladeshi cinema. His legacy will live on. We express our heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace!
