Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman from the Karnaphuli river, the lifeline of Chittagong.

The woman aged in 30s was wearing bangles and had vermillion painted on her forehead.

Chandgaon Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Abul Bashar said that they recovered the body from the river 500 yards off Kalurghat Bridge on Saturday night.

No injury marks were found on the body, leading to the police officer saying that she might have died while taking bath or after falling into the river while working nearby.
