Repairing roads of Dhaka

ROADS of Dhaka city are repaired from time to time by the concerned authorities to make it easier for people living in this city to travel from one place to another. But uncoordinated development works during monsoon are creating untold sufferings for millions of citizens. There are countless potholes on most of the busy roads which are unsafe for people and traffic to move along.

Garbage and other contaminants are found floating on water-logged roads during the rainy season often creating serious health hazards, including respiratory and digestive problems. We are utterly disappointed that the concerned authorities seem to have closed their eyes despite having seen reports about the miserable condition of the roads on the media. RAJUK and other utility agencies are also accustomed to saying that they will keep the city neat and clean at any cost. But effective and timely steps are always missing. It seems the concerned authorities which are considered developers of the capital have no headache for the sufferings of its people.

We urge the authorities again to repair all roads now in dilapidated condition immediately.
