Bringing down prices of essentials

THE three most essential things for life are air, water and food. While air and water are essential to keep us alive, food gives us the capacity to work. Without food, a person cannot do his/her work properly. There are six elements of food. Every element is essential for life. These elements are absorbed by our body cells and energy is produced. All the above three essential things are becoming dearer everyday. Air is polluted, water is scarce and food is becoming costlier.

Prices of essentials have gone up and more money is required to make both ends meet. Prices of daily necessities go up beyond limits particularly at the time of festivals. For example, prices of rice and onion are now rising. Because of floods in India, prices of these products have increased in the country. Traders have taken advantage of the situation and raised the prices of essentials in wholesale market. Under the circumstances, people with limited income are the worst sufferers and the most effective step at this stage will be to fix the maximum retail prices of essentials. I would like to request our government to take effective steps in this respect soon to reduce the sufferings of the common people of our country.
