Cricket Australia’s advanced security team due in city today

A two-member advanced security team of Cricket Australia will arrive in Dhaka today (Tuesday) ahead of the Australia's two-match Test tour against the Tigers in Dhaka and Chittagong, reports UNB.

The team can stay up to the end of the full tour or can leave before as they wish, informed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media manager Rabeed Imam on Monday.

However, Rabeed said BCB is still working on Fatullah Stadium to reshape as the venue for the two-day tour match on August 22-23 ahead of the Test battles.

Steve Smith's men are scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on August 18 following their week-long pre-tour training camp in Darwin.

The visitor is scheduled to play a practice match against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, but the ground is waterlogged with contaminated water that has leaked into the stadium from adjoining factories - an issue that has been compounded by heavy seasonal rainfall. The BCB is now facing a race against time to have the venue ready for Australia.

The first Test (August 27-31) is scheduled to be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka while the 2nd Test (September 4-8) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
