Flood suspends Dinajpur-Dhaka communications

With deteriorating flood in the district, the railway and road communications between Dinajpur and Dhaka have remained suspended since Sunday afternoon.

Dinajpur Railway Station Superintendent Golam Mustafa told BSS that rail links of Dinajpur with Dhaka and Panchagarh remained snapped as the tracks went under flood water.

The flood situation in Dinajpur remained unchanged as waters of both the Punarbhava and Atrai rivers were flowing 75 centimetres above the danger level this morning, said Executive Engineer Fayzur Rahman of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB).

He said the ongoing flood hit most of the 13 upazilas of the district.
