RAB arrests Jubo League leader in Cox’s Bazar

Five accused brothers, including Juba League leader, held in Cox’s Bazar

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a Jubo League leader and four of his brothers in possession of arms and drugs in Cox’s Bazar at the dawn of Sunday. 

Also a member of the Zila Parisad (district council), Jahangir Alam, is President of Pekua Upazila unit of Juba League, a youth front of the ruling Awami League. 

Major Md Ruhul Amin, Company Captain of RAB-7 Camp in the district, said, tipped off, a team of them arrested Alam and his brothers from their house at Chowmuhani under Pekua upazila around 5:30am. 

He said they also recovered three locally-made pistols, 10 rounds of bullets, one packet of Yaba and Tk 1.7 million in cash after searching throughout the house. 

Several cases are filed with the local police on various charges, added the RAB official.
