Female student of IU remains missing for four days

A female student of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has been missing for four days.

The victim was identified as Smrity Khatun, 25, a third year student of English Department and daughter of Anowar Hossain of Mokumpur village in Kushtia district, reports UNB.

According to the family members, Smrity went missing after coming to the campus for attending classes on Wednesday morning. But she never returned home that day.

Smrity’s father lodged a general diary with Islamic University police station in this regard, said IU police officer-in-charge Raton Sheikh.

They were trying to find Smrity, the OC added.

IU proctor Professor M Mahbubar Rahman said that the university authorities informed the matter to the law-enforcement agencies after getting a written complaint from the family members.
