Maintaining our social standards

ONE English daily in its last two consecutive issues published two alarming lead news that depicted the state of moral degradation in the country. The reports on rising incidents of rape and divorce and separation are awe-inspiring. We are losing our long traditional family bonding, values, ancestral commitment and respect for others. Experts noted that disengagement from surroundings lead people to undermine their confidence and eventually step into misdeeds like divorce, rape, separation and extra marital activities. As a nation, we used to feel proud of our rich tradition of family values and bonding that should never be allowed to get lost in the razzmatazz of the virtual and fast-moving world. Should we not rise up to keep a strong grip on our traditional values and maintain them at any cost?
