DTCA organises preparatory meeting to observe World Car Free Day

Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) has started preparing for observing the World Car Free Day on September 22. 

They held a preparatory meeting on Thursday with DTCA Executive Director Syed Ahmed in the chair. The slogan of the day is: Go car free and choose your ride: walk, bike or take bus.

The day is celebrated across the world with the aim of raising awareness of improving public transport system for promoting traffic jam and pollution free urbanisation.

Government and non-government organisations organise various events marking the international day. 

Bangladesh will nationally observe the Car Free Day through various functions at Manik Miah Avenue in Dhaka city on that day. 

The day’s programme is open to all without any registration. It will also feature different fun activities such as drawing competition, cycling, games and a discussion session.
