Cocaine seizure: Prosecution challenges charge sheet

Cocaine seizure: Prosecution challenges charge sheet
The prosecution has moved a no-confidence petition against police's charge sheet over the haul of cocaine from the Chittagong port two years ago.

On Jun 7, 2015, customs detectives sealed off a container filled with barrels of edible oil. Liquid cocaine was found in several barrels following tests, reports bdnews24.com.

Public Prosecutor Md Fakhruddin Chowdhury said that they filed the plea as police dropped charges against the owner of Khan Jahan Ali Ltd, the consignee of the container of edible oil.

The metropolitan sessions judge's court in Chittagong accepted the plea and fixed Aug 23 to hear the matter.
