Emotional stress: The silent killer

EMOTIONAL stress that stays around for few months can weaken our immune system and cause different health complications like high blood pressure, fatigue, depression, anxiety and even heart ailments.

No one can deny that the world we are living in today provides enough causes for worries and anxieties. Nowadays we are living under stress and day by day the stress level in our life is increasing. Even small school-going children are not immune from it.

We all are running after money thinking that money alone can give us whatever we are striving for. In this way we are only draining our energy and heightening our stress level which can prove to be fatal for our mental and physical well-being. Constant stress can cause sleeplessness and depression, the two associated evils of modern life.  To deal with everyday stress effectively we need to bring about some changes in our attitude and lifestyle. Since each one of us faces stress in our daily life, we need to find our own unique response to stress. There is no single way to combat stress in life, nor there is a "one size fits all" solution. So we need to experiment with different techniques and strategies and focus on what brings our individual stresses under control. With a little effort, we surely can treat the malady of stress and live a healthy and productive life. I read a nice advice from a Danish-American actor, Viggo Peter Mortensen. He said, "One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a horse master. He told me to go slow to go fast." I think that applies to everything in life. We live as though there are not enough hours left in the day, but if we do everything calmly and carefully we can get things done quicker and with much less stress."
