Our Correspondent

BOGRA, Aug 06:  Some 15 km of Dhunot-Sherpur connector road remains unfit for easy vehicular movement.

While visiting the area this correspondent saw the road was partially broken at two points and damaged in 15 to 20 places. It has become a trap at night because there is not enough light on the street. Auto rickshaws often get overturned when they fall into a pothole, causing injuries to passengers.

Anwar Hossain, a passerby, said he goes to nearby Sherpur upazila town for his official work on the road. It is very hard to walk on the road and it should be repaired soon at any cost, he added.

Sabuj Mia, a student of Shahrabari village, said it is very difficult to walk to school as the road is water-logged in most areas. Student face problems everyday while going to their institutions and are to pay extra money to reach school, collages timely, he added.

A woman Nilufa Yasmin of the upazila said, travelling on the road is very painful for patients who come to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Collage and Hospital hoping for better treatment.  She urges to the authority concern to take immediate step to repair the road.

Executive engineer of Roads and Highways Department Abdul Halim said, "We can't take initiative for frequent flood across the upazila. We will start repairing work after passing rainy season."
