FE Online Desk
A suspected drug dealer has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the Rapid Action Battalion in Dhaka city in the wee hours of Friday.

The deceased was identified as Imran (35), a drug pedlar. His identity details could not be known immediately.

Mohiuddin Farukki, Additional Police Supper at RAB-10, said a team of them conducted an anti-drug raid at Kodomtoli where there is a drug dealing spot around 12:45 am.

Some RAB men also went there as drug buyers but the drug dealers saw through them and tried to run away ending up with two or three of them caught by the lawmen in plain clothes.

Four to five drug dealers who were also nearby fired at the RAB triggering a gunfight, when Imran received critical bullet injuries and others fled the scene.

Three other members of the elite police were also injured while scuffling with the drug pedlars.

Suspected drug dealer Imran was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The RAB has recovered arms, yaba and Tk 70 thousands from the spot.
