Traffic police officer sues JnU students over assaults

A case was filed on Tuesday against some Jagannath University over an attack on traffic police officer.

Sergeant Kaiser Hamid filed the case with the Dhaka's Ramna police on Tuesday as he was allegedly attacked on Monday for trying to stop their bus from driving into a wrong lane, reports bdnews24.com.

Traffic police's Senior Assistant Commissioner Md Alauddin said charges of obstruction of government duty, attempted murder and disrupting traffic have been brought against 30 to 40 unidentified students.

According to the case document, Sergeant Hamid stopped three JnU buses driving through the wrong lane at the capital's Bangla Motor intersection.

Agitated students attacked the officer, when a traffic constable intervened and saved him.
