Non-resident investors losing interest in treasury bonds

FE Online Report
Outstanding treasury bonds, held by the non-resident investors, declined to Tk 430 million at the end of June this year.

The latest statistics of the central bank also showed that the value of outstanding treasury bonds, held by the non-resident investors, was Tk 2,954.40 million at the end of July 2016.

Thus, holding of treasury bonds by the non-resident investors declined around seven times within a year.

This reflects the diminishing interest of the non-resident investors in the Bangladeshi treasury bonds.

Central bank data also showed that, holding of outstanding t-bonds dropped sharply in August last to Tk 1714.70 million.

Starting to decline gradually at the time, the amount reached at Tk430.0 million by the end of March this year. That remained unchanged for the next three months.
