Gov borrows Tk 16.87 b through BB bill, Islamic bond

The government borrowed in total Tk 16.87billion (Tk 16877.6 crore) on Thursday, the last working day of the week, through the auction of central bank bill and Islamic bond.

Central bank data showed that the auction of 7-Day Bangladesh Bank Bill was held on Thursday in which 13 bids amounting to a total of Tk 9.90 billion were offered and all the bids were accepted. 

The rate of weighted average yield of the accepted bids was 2.98 per cent per annum.  

In another press statement, Bangladesh Bank mentioned that auction of 3-Month and 6-Month of Bangladesh Government Islami Investment Bond (BGIIB) was held on Thursday.

At these auctions, three bids amounting to a total of Tk.4.20 billion for 3-Month BGIIB and five bids of Tk 2.77 billion for 6-Month BGIIB were offered and all the bids were accepted.

The Profit Sharing Ratio (PSR) of the accepted bids was 90:10, added the press statement.
