Thrust on expanding Islamic banking system

A six-day long (July 15-20, 2017) training course on Islamic Banking and Finance organised by Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh was inaugurated Saturday for executives and officers of various banks and financial institutions, said a statement.

Held in the EXIM Bank Training & Research Academy at Karwan Bazan, Dhaka, the Inaugural Ceremony of the training course was presided over by Mr. AQM Safiullah Arif, Secretary General, Central Shariah Board.

The course was attended as the Chief Guest by Principal Sayed Kamaluddin Zafree, Chairman, Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh and as the special guest by Mr. M Azizul Huq, Chairman of Executive Committee of the same Board.

Chief Guest Principal Sayed Kamaluddin Zafree in his speech called upon the participants to flourish Islamic banking system through using acquired knowledge in their professional lives side by side with spreading it among their colleagues. He said, the periphery of knowledge should be wider than the sphere of concerned work.

Special Guest Mr. M Azizul Huq in his speech said, Islamic banking is now a reality. He inspired the trainees to build up a peaceful society through an interest-free banking system.

Mr. AQM Safiullah Arif in his presidential speech speech called all for more acceleration of the Islamic banking stream through compliance of Shariah.

A total of 44 executives and officers from Bangladesh Bank, Sonali Bank Limited, Agrani Bank Ltd, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, ICB Islamic Bank Limited, Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd,  Social Islami Bank Limited, Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited, Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited, First Security Islami Bank Limited, Prime Bank Limited, Dhaka Bank Limited, Jamuna Bank Limited, The Premier Bank Ltd, Bank Alfalah Limited, Trust Bank Limited, Bank Asia Limited, Pubali Bank Limited, Standard Bank Ltd, The City Bank Limited, Islamic Finance and Investment Limited & The Dhaka mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd participated in the training course which was the 29th of its kind.
