Indonesia to set new ceiling price for rice, oil and garlic

The Trade Ministry of Indonesia is going to set new ceiling prices for rice, cooking oil and garlic, according to a news item of Jakarta Post.

In this connection, the ministry will coordinate with the Agriculture Ministry, which regulates staple food production.

Currently, the ministry has set ceiling prices for rice, bulk cooking oil and simple packaged cooking oil at Rp 9,500 ($0.71)  per kg, Rp 10,500 ($0.79) per litre and Rp 11,000 (0.82) per litre, respectively.

New ceiling prices for rice will vary according to its variant.
