Shakib top allrounder in ICC Test rankings
Bangladesh's Shakib al Hasan remains the world's top-ranked allrounder, followed by India pair Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in second and third respectively, , according to the latest International Cricket Council Test player rankings, reports www.cricket.com.au.

Big gains for England's off-spinning allrounder after starring in Lord's Test.

He's often touted as the world's leading allrounder but Ben Stokes is no longer the best allrounder in own his team.

Following his maiden 10-wicket haul and sparkling half-century in the series-opening match against South Africa at Lord's, Moeen has leapfrogged Stokes on the ICC's official allrounder and bowling rankings and now finds himself ahead of his England teammate in all three categories.

The off-spinner jumped two spots into fourth on the allrounder charts while also rocketing up nine positions on the bowling rankings into 19th, and three spots into 21st on the batting charts. Stokes fell one rung to fifth among the allrounders and also lost ground on the bowling standings (from 20th to 22nd), while remaining the 36th on the ICC's Test batting list.

There was good news for Englishmen in the batting department, with Joe Root gaining some ground on No.1 ranked Test batsman Steve Smith. Root overtook Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson in second on the batting rankings, while wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow broke into the top-10 at the expense of South Africa veteran Hashim Amla. Smith nonetheless remains well clear atop the batting charts, with a sizeable 53 ranking point lead over Root.

His Australia teammate Mitchell Starc is no longer among the top-10 Test bowlers, with Proteas paceman Vernon Philander (previously 11th) swapping spots with the left-arm spearhead. Fellow quick Josh Hazlewood remains the top-ranked fast bowler in the world with three spinners (Jadeja, Ashwin and Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath) still at the summit of the bowling charts.
