51 rivers register rise, 33 fall

Water levels in 51 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 33 stations recorded fall. 

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, nine are above danger level, a bulletin issued by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) said Sunday.

The Brahmaputra river is in steady state, while the Jamuna, Ganges-Padma and Surma-Kushiyara Rivers are in rising trend.

The Brahmaputra river likely to remain steady in the next 24 hours while water level in Jamuna may slightly rise, added the bulletin.

The Ganges-Padma rivers likely to continue rising in the next 48 hours and the Surma and Kushiyara rivers may remain steady in the next 24 hours.
